Rejoice Elisha had a wedding date. December 29, 2025. A church, a dress, a future she had been building toward since her traditional marriage in October 2022.
Two weeks before that date, her husband packed her up and took her back to her parents’ house without a word of warning to her.
She shared the full story in a Facebook post on Friday, April 17, 2026, and the reason she chose to speak now is straightforward: Bongos has come back begging, and she wants the record to exist.
According to Rejoice, she and Bongos had been traditionally married since October 8, 2022, but the relationship was never stable. Trust issues and domestic violence were recurring problems throughout their time together.
By the time their church wedding was approaching, they had already separated three times. The fourth separation came differently.
Bongos drove her to her parents and left, telling her he was done. What she did not know until days later was that he had already gone ahead to inform her father privately that he would not be proceeding with the marriage, citing her stubbornness and lack of respect as his reasons. She heard it secondhand, from her father, after the fact.
She tells it in her own words:
“My supposed husband took me back to my parents two weeks to our wedding saying”he’s not marrying me again, that I’m too stubborn and very disrespectful” she wrote.
“We got married traditionally 8/10/2022, since then we’ve not been peaceful the major issue we keep having is Trust issues and Domestic violence.
“December 29/12/2025 was the date but he decided to take me back to my parents without me knowing it was few days after he left my father told me that my husband said he’s not marrying me again that I was too stubborn and very disrespectful.
“I fell sick immediately I was dripped and placed on medication. The same thing happened to my father after telling me.
“His family couldn’t even call me to at least hear if something happened, but immediately demanded for everything that was paid on me to be refund, so my family accepted because we’ve separated for three times and this was the fourth time, clearly both families are exhausted and we’re left with no option than to do the needful which was the refund.
“But decided to return me to my parents, and because it was more like a force because I never knew about it until he left I accepted it, now he’s disturbing and I know deep down that he didn’t mean it when he say sorry because if he actually love me as he claims now he wouldn’t have gone xtra miles.
“Now after the wedding date and send forth prayer passed the same man who brought me back to my parents came begging that”he’s sorry and that he doesn’t know what came over him”
“If you are close to him, tell him to forget about me and move on, and that God will bless him with a woman who will honor him since I couldn’t.”
