American Ghanaian comedian Michael Blackson has advised Ghanaian politicians to learn from the United States and focus on the economy in their campaign rallies.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on November 7, 2024, Blackson cited the recently held presidential elections in the United States which saw former president Donald Trump emerge victorious.

He pointed out that the economy is a major factor in elections of any country and advised politicians to outline their plans for the economy in their campaign rallies.

“Ghana, take a lesson from the USA campaign rallies, the economy is the most important thing in any country. Tell the people what you are going to do to make the economy better,” Blackson wrote.

His statement comes at a time when economic concerns are at the forefront of public discourse in Ghana.

As Ghana goes to the polls on December 7, 2024, political campaigns have been intensified with politicians using different strategies to woo the electorate.
