The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned and emergency maintenance works across its operational regions, scheduled from Sunday, March 1, to Thursday, March 5, 2026.

In a press release dated February 27, 2026, ECG said the maintenance exercises are aimed at improving service delivery and strengthening network reliability.

The works will, however, result in temporary power outages in parts of the Greater Accra, Tema, Accra East, and Accra West regions.

“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery. This will result in a temporary outage,” the statement said.

According to the company, the first outage will take place on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 9:00am to 3:00pm, affecting residents of Trassaco Valley Enclave and surrounding areas in the Greater Accra Region.

Also on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the Accra West Region will experience an emergency outage affecting La Darkuman, Kokompe, and surrounding communities.

The Tema Region will also experience outages in Spintex Kotobabi, Inkoom Hospital, Community 11 areas including Monte Carlo, Shell Filling Station and Gyan Towers, CAC in Community 5, Community 3, and surrounding areas.

In the Accra West Region, Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, Kings University, and nearby communities will also be affected during the same period.

The final day of the exercise, Thursday, March 5, will see extensive outages across several regions.

In the Accra East Region, parts of Ashongman Estate, Pure Water, Car Price, Railways, C-Root Company, Asiedu Nketia area, parts of Oyarifa, Gravel Pit, and Ashiyie will experience power cuts from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
