Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo was the match-winner as Manchester City edged a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road.

Semenyo struck in first-half stoppage time, finishing from a low Rayan Ait Nouri cross in the 45+2 minute to decide a tight Premier League contest.

City dominated possession with 67% of the ball but had to work hard to break down a well-organised Leeds side.

Both teams finished with 14 shots, yet City created the clearer openings, generating four big chances to Leeds’ two and edging the attacking battle.

Gianluigi Donnarumma and his back line stood firm in the closing stages as Leeds pushed for an equaliser, preserving a valuable clean sheet away from home.

Semenyo’s goal continues an impressive 2025/26 Premier League campaign in which he has become a regular attacking threat for Pep Guardiola’s team.

His movement and link-up play alongside Omar Marmoush gave Leeds constant problems.

Manchester City now turn their attention to their next league fixture at home to Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, March 4, as they look to keep momentum in the title race.
