Hearts of Oak have formally lodged a complaint with FIFA against South African outfit Siwelele FC over the alleged unauthorized approach of midfielder Hamza Issah.

The Accra-based club claims the South African side engaged Issah, extended an invitation, and even facilitated travel arrangements without Hearts’ knowledge or consent, despite the player being under an active contract.

“This constitutes player inducement and unlawful interference with a subsisting contractual relationship, in clear violation of FIFA Regulations,” the club stated on Wednesday.

The complaint follows media speculation about Issah’s potential move to South Africa, which Hearts insist is premature given the existing contract.

“As of today, no competent judicial, regulatory or arbitral body, including the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee or FIFA, has issued any ruling or confirmation that the said contract has been lawfully terminated,” the club emphasized.

In December, Issah’s representatives threatened to terminate the contract, alleging three months of unpaid wages.

Hearts, while denying any persistent or material contractual breaches, confirmed ongoing discussions with Issah and his team to resolve “outstanding concerns.”

“The club met with the player on two separate occasions and acted in good faith to address and resolve all outstanding concerns,” the statement added.

This season, Hamza Issah has netted four goals in 20 league appearances.
