Accra Hearts of Oak secured a 1–0 victory over Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Baba Adamu broke the deadlock with a towering header, latching onto a long pass into the box and sending the ball over Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara. Hearts dominated much of the first half but were reduced to 10 men before the break when Amankwah was sent off after receiving his second yellow card of the game. Despite the setback, the visitors went into halftime with a one-goal advantage.

The second half saw Hearts goalkeeper Benjamin Asare come to the fore as Asante Kotoko pushed hard in search of an equaliser. The hosts pressed relentlessly, but Asare produced a series of crucial saves to deny them time and again in what turned into a commanding individual display.

Hearts held firm to see off their archrivals and secure the narrow win. The result also marked Kotoko’s first home defeat in 10 matches.
