The 2026 Beach Soccer Festival will be hosted in Accra The 2026 Beach Soccer Festival will be hosted in Accra

Accra, the capital of Ghana has been officially confirmed as host city of the 2026 One Humanity International Beach Soccer Cup.

“The international beach soccer tournament is inspired and aligned with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC)-led One Humanity Campaign that promotes unity, dialogue and shared human values through sport.”

Those were the words of the UN resident director in Accra responsible for International Migration Madam Fatou Diallo Ndiaye, who was the keynote speaker at the launch in Accra on Friday 6th February.

Scheduled for the 8th to 10th of May 2026, the tournament will feature national teams from hosts Ghana, Nigeria, England and Germany, transforming Ghana’s fast growing Beach Soccer landscape into a hub for world-class beach soccer, sports business networking, music, fashion and cultural exchange as well as community celebration.

The event is being organised in collaboration with Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), the world’s leading organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of beach soccer globally.

One of the key aims of the tournament is to position beach soccer as a sport-for-impact.

The platform will combine elite performance with community engagement activities, including a fan zone experience and community beach clean-up initiatives, fitness health walks and a headline outdoor concert celebrating youth, fashion, culture and unity.

Banasco Nuhu Seidu, Executive Director of NASCO Feeding Minds and Lead Organiser, said the tournament represents a long-term vision for sport in Ghana. “This is more than a tournament. It is about legacy, opportunity and using sport to unite communities and inspire young people.”

The Director General of the National Sports Authority, who has been associated with beach soccer for over 15 years described the event as timely and strategic.

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah believes the multiple attractions of the tournament will bring a cross section of business interests and investment. “Beach soccer offers a unique opportunity to activate our coastline beyond sports while showcasing Ghana’s readiness to host any world-class international sporting event.”

Gyamfi Kusi Awere, Chairman of the GFA Beach Soccer Committee, emphasized that the competition would elevate the sport locally.

“This tournament provides vital international exposure for our players and strengthens Ghana’s place within the global beach soccer ecosystem.”

Further details on venues, schedules and official activities will be announced in the coming weeks.
