As delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) make their way to the polls, security personnel are also doing their best to ensure a safe and orderly voting process.

Among them is renowned gospel musician and police officer ACP Kofi Sarpong, who was spotted at the Maranatha University College voting centre at Anyaa Sowutuom in Accra.

In a video shared by Channel One news, ACP Sarpong, who was the commander in charge at the centre, was spotted overseeing security arrangements for the election.

The ‘African Borborbo’ singer was then spotted addressing some early voters who had come to cast their votes at the centre.

He could be heard informing them that they would be searched before being allowed to the voting grounds.

This comes as the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is set to hold its presidential primary on Saturday, January 31, 2026, to elect its flagbearer for the 2028 election.

Five stalwarts of the party, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central legislator Kennedy Agyapong, former Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr Bryan Acheampong, former Minister of Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, will be going head-to-head for the party’s flagbearership position.
