The case involving the Founder and General Overseer of Alive Chapel International Church, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, whose son reportedly caused a gruesome road crash resulting in the deaths of two 12-year-olds in East Legon, has been adjourned to November 13, 2024.

According to a report by Kofi TV, the Accra Circuit Court adjourned the case after a request from the prosecutor from the Office of the Attorney General asked for more time to prepare their case.

The report stated that the state attorneys asked for two weeks to conduct further investigations.

The judge overseeing the case granted the prosecution’s request and rescheduled the trial for November 13, 2024.

During the trial, Bishop Salifu Amoako, through his legal representatives, expressed concern about the circulation of images of their minor son, Elrad Amoako.

He requested the court to instruct the Ghana Police Service and media outlets to stop sharing visuals of their juvenile son.

However, the judge explained that such an order could not be given as the proceedings were not taking place in a juvenile court.

The judge advised the pastor and his wife to report individuals and media organisations who have shared images of their son for appropriate action to be taken.

    About the case:

In relation to the case, Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha Amoako, and Linda Bonsu Prempeh, a sales assistant, were arrested following the accident caused by their son in East Legon.

Subsequently, the Accra Circuit Court granted Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako a GH¢50,000 bail each with two sureties.

Linda Bonsu Prempeh, who allegedly provided

the key to the vehicle involved in the accident, was also granted bail in the same amount with two sureties, without justification.

The three individuals have been charged with “permitting an unlicensed person to drive” and all pleaded not guilty during their court appearance on Wednesday, October 16, 2024
