A moment off the pitch at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has captured much attention as the goals scored during the opening game between Tanzania and Nigeria.

While the Super Eagles came out on top with a win, it seems one Tanzanian fan walked away feeling like a winner in a very different way.

TV cameras caught a Tanzanian male fan and a Nigerian female fan engaging in what appeared to be a lively conversation in the stands.

Observers noted their smiles, laughter, and playful gestures, some even suggesting they were exchanging numbers.

The footage quickly went viral on social media, sparking a wave of reactions from fans.

Despite Tanzania’s loss on the field, many online users jokingly declared that the man “won” the day, stealing the spotlight with his apparent off-field success.

Memes and posts flooded timelines, celebrating the unexpected twist that sometimes, fandoms lead to more than just cheering for your team.

In the game, it was Semi Ajayi who gave Nigeria the lead in the first half before Charles M’Mombwa equalized for Tanzania early in the second.

But Ademola Lookman’s quick strike restored the Super Eagles’ advantage.
