Ghanaian media personality Mawuli Ekpe Peter, popularly known as Abro, has expressed strong displeasure over the controversies surrounding the death and burial arrangements of Highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

In a video shared on Facebook on December 12, 2025, Abro described the family disputes over the burial preparations as shameful and a disgrace to Lumba’s legacy.

According to him, Daddy Lumba lived an honourable life and made immense contributions to the entertainment industry; therefore, the unnecessary back-and-forth among his relatives is unacceptable.

“If this is how we are supposed to organise Daddy Lumba’s burial, God should punish us. I don’t mind sacrificing my body and soul for Akosua Serwaa,” he said.

Abro further called on Ghanaians, music lovers, and the family of the late musician to put an end to the needless controversies and ensure a befitting burial for the Highlife icon.

“We should stop all this and do a proper burial for Daddy Lumba. It will be painful for people to witness a burial handled this way… Why are we being selfish?” he added.

Meanwhile, the Accra High Court has granted an injunction filed by the maternal family of the late musician, halting the funeral scheduled for December 13, 2025, and preventing the release of his body from the mortuary until the substantive case is determined.

The ruling follows a contentious legal battle initiated by five maternal relatives, Obaapanyin Afia Adomah Pakoso, Robert Gyamfi (Wofa Yaw Poku Asuafua), Georgina Gyamfi, Ernestina Fosuh, and Nana Afia Kobi Pakoso, who filed a writ on December 3, 2025, seeking orders to preserve their traditional and legal authority over the burial arrangements.
