Ghanaian musician Lasmid has disclosed that he does not write his lyrics before stepping into the studio to record.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on December 8, 2025, the singer explained that his creative process is entirely spontaneous and driven by the rhythm he hears.
According to him, melodies come naturally the moment the beat starts playing.

“One thing about me is I don’t write before entering the studio. Whenever I hear the beat, the melody starts flowing. I’m a melodist and the lyrics always comes after the melody,” he said.
He stated that his recording process is often therapeutic for people who witness it.
“My recording session is a therapy to somebody. You will actually feel it. I listen to the beat and that’s when I start creating,” he added.
