Ghanaian singer King Promise has disclosed that he does not believe in putting pressure on himself when creating music.

According to him, forcing the process only affects the quality of the final work.

Speaking in an interview on 3Music on December 3, 2025, the award-winning artiste explained that his approach to music is guided by patience, intuition, and freedom.

“If I ever feel I’m forcing it, I stop. Sometimes it will take an hour, sometimes three to five hours and sometimes two days.

“Songs that take me 2 days, if I start it today and it’s a couple of hours, and I feel like moving on to something else, so I just leave it and go, then I come back the next day and continue,” he said.

King Promise noted that creativity thrives best when it is not rushed, stressing that music should flow naturally.

“You have to let the creative juices flow. You don’t have to push yourself. No pressure in making music. This has always been my motto,” he stated.

He also shared that having fun in the studio is crucial to him because it helps listeners connect with the music’s authenticity.

“When I go to the studio, I love to have fun, so it will resonate when people listen to it. You should be able to feel as if you were in my shoes. People have to be able to find themselves in music, so for me, I try to speak my truth even if I put a small story inside,” he added.
