Ghanaian musician Captain Planet has sparked an online debate following a statement he made about the Ghanaian music industry.

In a post shared on X on December 4, 2025, Captain Planet stated that the music being produced by the current crop of artistes is not as compelling as it was in his era.

He added that he would have released an exciting song for the festive season, but since stepping back from music, he has not heard any track interesting enough to inspire him.

“Ghana music these days no dey sweet me koraa. Those days, every Christmas, you go hear some big banger, but since I stop dey drop songs, you guys no dey get Christmas banger,” he said.

Following Captain Planet’s post online, some netizens have expressed mixed reactions.

While some netizens are calling for the defunct 4×4 group to come together again, others are criticising him.

According to them, they believe 4×4 will stay relevant if they start to compose songs again.
