Media personality Abena Moet has urged women to prioritize their own financial security and their children’s future over investing resources in men.
Speaking in an interview on Neat FM on December 2, 2025, Abena Moet stated that women should be more pragmatic in relationships, especially when they notice signs of instability or lack of commitment.
She made these statements while commenting on claims that Daddy Lumba’s wife, Akosua Serwaa, sacrificed greatly and invested heavily in his flourishing career.
However, the musician ended up with another woman, and after his death, Akosua Serwaa now finds herself competing for her rightful place.
Speaking on this situation, Abena Moet said, “We should learn to be logical. When Akosua Serwaa wanted to initiate divorce and he didn’t mind her, she should have gone ahead to divorce him and she would have gotten her share of everything by now.”
She stressed that men often make decisions based on personal convenience and happiness, and advised women to avoid combining resources with partners when acquiring property.

“Men will leave when it’s not convenient for them so we should live for ourselves now. Don’t add your resources to a man to get properties. Rather use your money to buy land than to help a man build a house. If you have the money and you want properties, buy them in your children’s name,” she shared.
Abena Moet also cautioned women against ignoring character flaws in relationships because of love.
She stated that men seldom consider love when walking away from a relationship.
“When you see character flaws in men, let’s not say that because of love, because men don’t think of love when they’re leaving us. Men will think about their own happiness and abandon their families because they find it somewhere else. But a woman would endure that and stay till she becomes old, she would say it’s because of the kids but they will end up getting nothing in the end,” she noted.
She added, “Daddy Lumba left his wife and children, went to be with another woman, and had six children. If it were the woman, she wouldn’t have been able to do that.”
She further encouraged women to place value on their well-being.
“Women should start living for themselves and their happiness. There are other things that are worse than being a divorcee,” she added.
