Ghanaian singer, OliveTheBoy, has addressed the criticisms he encountered after his performance during the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
In an interview on Hitz FM, shared on X on December 1, 2025, OliveTheBoy was asked how he felt after being criticised for chewing gum provocatively during his TGMA performance.
Responding, the “Convo” singer noted that he sees nothing wrong with chewing gum on stage, adding that the backlash was unnecessary.
“What is wrong with chewing gum? I liked it. I didn’t read most of the comments,” he said.

OliveTheBoy also expressed optimism in winning awards at the forthcoming 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
According to him, he worked on numerous hit songs; hence, Ghanaians should honour his hard work.
“Of course, we will bag what we can bag. I am hoping for EP of the Year, Afrobeat Artiste, and Song of the Year. And also, Songwriter of the Year. This year, I gave people songs, so they should give me my flowers,” he added.
