The 2025 University of Ghana Corporate Tennis Championship is set to take place at the university’s tennis court on October 25, 2025, as four institutions compete for glory.

GOIL PLC, Stanbic Bank, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and the Volta River Authority (VRA) will battle for the trophy at UG.

The draw paired GOIL PLC against Stanbic Bank, while VRA will face GCAA in the semi-final matches, with the winners advancing to the final.

Speaking at the launch on October 22, 2025, President of the Ghana Tennis Association, Isaac Duah, urged participating institutions to adhere to the rules and field eligible players for the games.

He noted that the tournament is part of efforts to revive tennis championships in the country.

“The championship is expected to bring many exciting moments. There will be a lot of networking opportunities for the companies, and we hope they will field the right players to compete,” Duah said.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rite Sports Services, Yaw Sakyi, stated that “We decided to partner with the GTA because tennis has a growing following among corporate institutions. We are grateful to all the companies supporting this initiative, and we are committed to ensuring fairness and excitement in this and future events,” Sakyi told GhanaWeb Sports.

Representatives of the various institutions also noted that they are well-prepared and ready to compete for the trophy.
