Formerly known as Annie Idibia, the actress took to social media to reintroduce herself as Annie Uwana Macaulay, marking a significant step in her healing journey amid her separation and ongoing divorce from Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
While many fans praised Annie for moving on from what has been described as a toxic marriage, Natasha stirred up major controversy by updating her social media bio to read “Honourable Natasha IDIBIA”, with the surname in all caps.
The move quickly caught public attention, as it came immediately after Annie renounced the surname.
The development has since triggered widespread backlash online, with many netizens accusing Natasha of being desperate.
Critics questioned why she was so quick to adopt the Idibia name despite not being legally married to the singer.
Annie returns to social media
After a prolonged social media break, reportedly due to health challenges and emotional distress, Annie made a quiet but powerful comeback.
Rumours had circulated that she was battling mental health issues following the divorce, with some reports alleging she spent time in rehab.
In her return, Annie wiped all her Instagram posts and shared a message, thanking fans and well-wishers for their overwhelming support during her darkest moments.

2Baba’s divorce announcement
On January 26, 2025, 2Baba took to his Instagram stories to state that he and Annie have been separated for some time and have officially filed for divorce.
He wrote, “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long… Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now, and we’ve currently filed for divorce.
“I will grant a press release soon to share my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all.”
The couple’s 12-year marriage has been in the public eye, particularly with claims of infidelity involving 2Baba.
2Baba’s mother’s concern
Amid the drama, 2Baba’s mother took to social media to express concern over her son’s whereabouts.
According to her, 2Baba has been missing from his home and is now believed to be living with Natasha in Benin State.
She bitterly lamented that her son is “under a spell,” suggesting that Natasha has a tight grip on the musician.
Since then, 2Baba and Natasha have been inseparable, regularly flaunting their relationship on social media.
Natasha, a sitting member of the Edo State House of Assembly, is often seen taking 2Baba along to official engagements and political functions.
