Entertainment pundit MC Portfolio, has disclosed that his vocal support for King Paluta for the 2025 TGMA Artiste of the Year has caused tensions with some members of Stonebwoy’s BHIM Nation.
It can be recalled that in an earlier interview, he argued that King Paluta’s achievements in 2024 are unparalleled, making him the most deserving candidate for Artiste of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
According to him, no other artiste in Ghana had such a consistent reign at the top of the charts in 2024.
However, according to Portfolio, his comments have put him at loggerheads with some core fans of Stonebwoy.
“My relationship with a lot of people in the BHIM camp has been slightly severed because of my views. I could really feel the displeasure in the faces of people,” he said.
He also noted that while he remains a strong supporter of Stonebwoy, he refuses to align blindly with fanaticism.
“I thought I could maintain my positive relationship with Stonebwoy without necessarily trying to push an agenda even when I don’t side with it. I didn’t know this was how the fanaticism was going to move.
“So, it means that being a BHIM native, you have to inherit all the enemies around Stonebwoy. I can’t do that. I don’t inherit enemies. I just want to respect my relationship with Stonebwoy and keep myself out of this fanaticism,” he stated.
Despite the pushback, MC Portfolio maintained that King Paluta’s impact in 2024 through chart-topping hits like ‘Aseda,’ ‘Makoma,’ and ‘Apicki’ makes him the clear choice for Artiste of the Year.
“This year is about hard work and impact, and no one has worked harder or made more impact in 2024 than King Paluta,” he insisted.
