The battle for the top scorer award in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League is heating up as the season approaches its climax, with several players still in strong contention and separated by just a few goals.

Leading the chart at the moment is Augustine Okrah of Bechem United, who has climbed to 13 goals after scoring a brace against Eleven Wonders in the last round of matches. The experienced forward has hit form at the perfect time and now holds a slim advantage in the race.

Close behind him is Bibiani GoldStars starman Samuel Atta Kumi, who remains on 12 goals. Despite going two matches without scoring, he has been a key figure for his side throughout the campaign and remains firmly in contention.

Also on 12 goals is Richmond Opoku of Young Apostles. The 19-year-old continues to impress, having scored three goals in his last four matches, including a consolation strike against Karela United in their last game, and has recently earned a call-up to the home-based national team – Black Galaxies.

Salim Adams of Medeama SC is enjoying the best season of his career undoubtedly, with 11 goals so far. His recent brace against GoldStars in the ‘top of table clash’ underlines his importance to his team’s title charge and keeps him within touching distance of the leaders.

Many a Ghanaian football faithful and bookmakers have already been rooting for him to be included in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Rounding up the top five is Suraj Seidu of Dreams FC, who has netted 10 goals. He remains a consistent attacking threat and could still play a decisive role in the outcome of the Golden Boot race.

With four matches remaining, the race remains wide open, and while attention will be on the title and relegation battles, the fight for the Golden Boot promises an equally exciting finish.
