Berekum Chelsea boosted their survival hopes with a commanding 3 -1 victory over Eleven Wonders

Berekum Chelsea boosted their survival hopes with a commanding 3-1 victory over Eleven Wonders at the Golden City Park on Sunday afternoon in their Ghana Premier League matchday 16 encounter.

The home side made a bright start and were rewarded early, although it was the visitors who struck first against the run of play.

Wonders stunned the Berekum faithful in the 15th minute when William Danquah finished clinically to give the league’s bottom-placed side a surprise lead.

Chelsea responded immediately and were handed a golden opportunity to draw level just two minutes later after a foul in the box.

Prince Anane stepped up and kept his composure, calmly converting from the penalty spot in the 17th minute to restore parity and settle the nerves of the home crowd.

The Bibires grew in confidence thereafter, dominating possession and pushing Wonders deeper into their own half.

Despite creating several openings, Chelsea had to wait until the second half to make their superiority count.

Their persistence paid off in the 63rd minute when Samed Nasri Musah found the back of the net with a well-taken finish to put the hosts ahead for the first time.

Wonders attempted to rally late on but lacked the attacking bite to seriously trouble Chelsea’s defence.

Any hopes of a comeback were extinguished in stoppage time as Kwasi Sorotu Badori sealed the win in the 90th minute with a decisive strike.
