The Gyaasehene of Gomoa Assin in the Central Region, Nana Kwabena Kwan, has charged the Electoral Commission to be neutral, fair, and transparent in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.

According to the chief, any mistake or bias from the side of the Electoral Commission might trigger violence; hence, the election management body must ensure that it does the right thing to ensure peace before, during, and after the polls.

Nana Kwabena Kwan cautioned the youth not to allow themselves to be used to perpetuate political violence during the election.

“Don’t allow yourselves to be used by politicians to destroy the fortunes and future of this country,” he said.

In an interview with the media, he also charged churches to educate their members on how to live in peace before, during, and after the elections, adding that Ghana must not burn because of elections.

“No blood must be shed because of an election. Electing a President and Members of Parliament should not result in the death of anyone. Elections should not be a do-or-die issue,” he added.
