Alhamdulila Fauzia Ali is 20-year-old medical student at the University for Development Studies Alhamdulila Fauzia Ali is 20-year-old medical student at the University for Development Studies

Alhamdulila Fauzia Ali, a 20-year-old medical student at the University for Development Studies (UDS), has resumed her educational journey after receiving support from kind-hearted individuals.

Fauzia, a first-year medical student, reported to school on October 28, 2024, officially starting her six-year program.

In a post on October 29, 2024, Aesha Adam shared the news on Facebook: “Alhamdulila Fauzia Ali reported to school yesterday, Monday 28th October 2024, to begin her six-year journey as a UDS medical student in sha Allah. Thank you all for contributing to make this a success. In whichever capacity you played, Allah has seen and will bless you immensely. Please keep the donations coming, we need to create a buffer for the journey ahead in sha Allah.”

Fauzia, a Serwaa Kesse Girls Senior High School graduate with excellent grades, including a distinction in Integrated Science, had initially struggled to fund her medical education. With no means to pay the GH¢10,000 needed for admission and other expenses, she resorted to helping her mother sell roasted plantains in New Zongo, Asokore Mampong, in the Ashanti Region.

“When 20-year-old Fauzia Ali graduated from Serwaa Kesse Girls Senior High School in the Ahafo Region, her sights were set on becoming a medical doctor. Driven by her passion for saving lives and helping the vulnerable, especially given her humble background, Fauzia’s dream felt within reach,” Hamza TV reported on October 25. It continued, “Now, instead of preparing for medical school, Fauzia spends her days helping her mother sell roasted plantains in New Zongo, a lively community in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.”

With limited income to support the family, Fauzia’s mother, Zainab Ali, expressed hope for her daughter’s future.

“There is no money for me to pursue the medicine programme I was admitted to at UDS,” Fauzia said, her voice heavy with emotion.

“I am pleading with anyone who can help me achieve my goal,” she added.

Her mother also shared a heartfelt plea: “I am begging anyone who feels touched to help my daughter. I believe she can become a great person and help this nation one day.”

With the support received, Fauzia’s educational dream is now back on track, and her family remains deeply grateful.
