    A decade ago, in 2015, Ghana’s music scene delivered a wave of chart-topping tracks that quickly became street anthems and party staples.

    In this article, we take a nostalgic look at 10 unforgettable Ghanaian songs that have continued to resonate with fans and light up playlists to this day.

    1. “Skolom” by VVIP ft. Sena Dagadu

    VVIP, the legendary Ghanaian music group, made up of Zeal, Prodigal and Reggie Rockstone collaborated with Sena Dagadu to produce “Skolom,” a track that blended traditional rhythms with contemporary beats.

    At the time of its release, this song was an absolute banger, and to this day, it still lights up parties and sparks excitement whenever it drops at an event.

    2. “Enemies” by Jupitar ft. Sarkodie

    Dancehall artiste Jupitar teamed up with Sarkodie to release “Enemies,” a song that addressed the challenges of dealing with adversaries.

    The track which gained significant traction in 2015, was produced by Masta Garzy.

    3. “Go Higher” by Stonebwoy

    Stonebwoy’s “Go Higher” became an anthem of motivation and perseverance, particularly for the street peeps.

    The song’s uplifting message, combined with Stonebwoy’s signature Afro-dancehall style, made the song one of the biggest at that time till date.

    4. “Ekiki Mi” by Wisa Greid ft. Luther

    Wisa Greid burst onto the music scene with “Ekiki Mi,” featuring Luther.

    With its catchy chorus and upbeat tempo, the track didn’t just dominate the airwaves, it also became a staple at countless celebrations and gatherings.

    5. “Mansa” by Bisa Kdei

    Bisa Kdei’s “Mansa” is a highlife masterpiece that captured the hearts of fans in Ghana and globally since its release till date.

    The song’s high tempo vibes and melodic arrangement made it one of the most played tracks at the time, with its music video racking up millions of views on YouTube within just three months of its release.

    6. “Telemo” by Gasmilla ft. Capasta

    Known as the “King of Azonto,” Gasmilla delivered “Telemo,” featuring Capasta, a song that combined humour with danceable beats.

    The track’s fast paced beat made it a hit among fans of the Azonto genre back in the day and even till now.

    7. “Makoma” by R2Bees

    R2Bees released “Makoma,” a highlife-infused track that explores themes of love and betrayal.

    Produced by Kaywa, the song blends heartfelt lyrics with a laid-back vibe, 0professing love in a mellow tone, while the infectious beat keeps listeners nodding along.

    Since its release, “Makoma” has remained a favourite among many music lovers, standing the test of time.

    8. “Pimpinaa” by Obrafour ft. Bisa Kdei

    Rap legend Obrafour teamed up with highlife artiste Bisa Kdei on ‘Pimpinaa,’ a song rich with moral advice for the youth.

    The ‘Rap Sofuor’ launched off 2015 with this romantic song which still bangs on the airwaves till date.

    Titled ‘Pimpinaa,’ the song was a popular banger, blending smooth highlife rhythms with a catchy, feel-good vibe.

    9. “Aye Late” by Pappy Kojo ft. Sarkodie

    Pappy Kojo, known for his unique rap style which blends Fante with English, joined forces with Sarkodie on “Aye Late.”

    The song’s catchy hook made it an instant favourite, staying on the lips of countless music lovers from its release to this day.

    10. “Hol It” by Shatta Wale

    At the time, dancehall artiste Shatta Wale cemented his dominance in the genre with a string of hits, including the fan-favorite ‘Hol It.’

    The song’s catchy hook, especially the iconic “Hol It” phrase, quickly caught on, and to this day, fans can’t help but sing along whenever it plays at events.
