In a heartfelt ceremony held in Accra on January 23, 2025, Zoomlion Ghana Limited celebrated Ibrahim Salifu, a dedicated employee and Youth Employment Agency (YEA) beneficiary from Tamale, for his extraordinary act of honesty. Salifu, who returned GHC 20,000 he found while on duty, has become a national symbol of integrity and godliness.

Zoomlion honored Mr. Salifu with a citation, an undisclosed amount of cash in Ghana cedis and U.S. dollars, and a motorbike to support his transportation needs. This commendation reflects Zoomlion’s commitment to upholding values of honesty, integrity, and a people-focused approach.

“We commend his selfless act and reiterate our commitment to upholding the values of godliness and people-focus, encouraging all Ghanaians to live with integrity and a sense of responsibility,” Zoomlion stated during the event.

What makes Salifu’s act even more inspiring is that, at the time he discovered the money, he had only GHC 5 on him. Despite his financial challenges, he chose to return the large sum, an act that has garnered widespread admiration and media attention.

To mark this momentous occasion, Zoomlion’s top officials flew Ibrahim Salifu to Accra, where he was officially recognized in a ceremony attended by company executives and other dignitaries. Salifu has also received additional gifts and commendations from notable personalities across the country, further emphasizing the impact of his remarkable deed.

This story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of honesty and responsibility, even in challenging circumstances. Salifu’s actions have not only brought him recognition but have also inspired countless others to prioritize integrity in their daily lives.

Congratulations to Ibrahim Salifu for setting an example for us all!
