Zelensky reveals he’s survived ‘six’ assassination attempts by Putin and claims Moscow is plotting new bid at regime-change – as he accuses Kremlin of bringing planet to the brink of WW3 with Ukraine invasion

Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that he has survived ‘six’ assassination attempts by Vladimir Putin since Russia invaded Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president claims Moscow is plotting to topple him before the end of the year, but the battle-hardened leader has vowed to fight on.

Zelensky told The Sun today that at Ukraine’s intelligence service had foiled at least ‘five or six’ plots to kill him which he likened to the covid-19 outbreak.

He said the first assassination plot caused him to panic, but the foiled attempts, of which there have allegedly been many, that followed were not as frightening.

‘The first one is very interesting, when it is the first time, and after that it is just like Covid,’ he told the newspaper. ‘First of all people don’t know what to do with it and it’s looking very scary.

‘And then after that, it is just intelligence just sharing with you detail that one more group came to Ukraine to [attempt] this.’

Zelensky has also accused Russia of ‘lighting fires’ across the globe and leading the world to the brink of World War Three.

He alleged that Putin is in support of the attack on Israel by Hamas, citing the apparent strengthening of Russia’s relationship with Iran, which supports the terrorist group.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
