Popular American Youtuber IshowSpeed subtly jabbed Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher over his goal scoring record during a sports programme on television.

During the UEFA Champions League broadcast on CBS Sports on February 5, 2025, Carragher questioned the YouTuber’s assertion that Cristiano Ronaldo having more goals than Messi makes him the Greatest Footballer of All Time (GOAT).

The sports pundit quizzed whether the goals Ronaldo scored, which IshowSpeed was referring to, included own goals.

“The goals you mean, own goals?” Carragher asked.

The question did not sit well with IshowSpeed, who told Carragher that he has more own goals than actual goals in his career, saying, “Let’s not talk about own goals, because you’ve got more own goals than actual goals. But let’s not get into that.”

Carragher quickly asked the YouTuber to quit the jokes and focus on the Messi-Ronaldo debate instead.

“I get that you’re trying to kill the joke. Let’s get back to Messi and Ronaldo,” the ex-Liverpool defender said.

Carragher scored seven own goals in England’s top flight, which puts him second on the list of players with the most own goals in Premier League history. In fact, only Richard Dunne scored more.
