Ghanaian media personality, Mona Gucci, has taken a swipe at entertainment pundit MC Yaa Yeboah, following comments she made against the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale.

Contributing to discussions on thuggery witnessed at the Ablekuma North election rerun on United Showbiz on July 12, 2025, MC Yaa Yeboah alleged that Basintale, through posts on social media, subtly urged the thugs to cause havoc during the elections.

“Those tweets from notable political figures made on social media was an attempt to urge people to commit electoral violence and it is bad. Where are the family members of those people? You recruit someone’s breadwinner to commit violence, and that is a very bad thing,” Yaa Yeboah noted.

However, responding to MC Yaa Yeboah’s remarks, Mona Gucci, in a video shared on social media, called out the entertainment pundit describing her as an educated illiterate.

She told Yaa Yeboah to read and research her topics before making utterances on live television.

“How dare you. When they give you topics to talk about and you think you can’t contribute, better shut up, rather than to come on television to talk trash. People have been saying you don’t respect, and you think it is for fun?

“You look poised and eloquent, so you think you are intelligent, but you are not. You are actually an educated illiterate. You are doing too much, and we won’t sit down for you to disrespect our Malik Basintale. Don’t make that mistake again,” she warned.

Mona Gucci also advised Yaa Yeboah to refrain from speaking ill about Basintale.

“You are a nobody, so don’t speak to Malik Basintale like that. If you are not going to apologise to him for disrespecting him, just don’t mention his name again.

“Your utterances will make some people hurt you in town and Malik won’t be there at that point to stop them. I believe that if Malik were there at the point in time during the violence, he would have asked them to stop,” she added.
