Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has fired back at critics who have accused him of abandoning music in favour of posting food and lifestyle content on social media.

In a video shared on X on June 1, 2025, the “Grind Day” hitmaker addressed the backlash he received after posting a video showcasing a variety of dishes.

According to him, the criticism has not only been harsh but rooted in negativity that hinders creativity and progress in the creative arts industry.

“Some of you have decided to be very evil and nasty about it in my comments. Some people have gone to the extent of being like, oh, I hope he goes broke and he starts eating gari, so he can give us the type of music he used to give us. I sent them back to the sender,” he said.

He emphasised that he has no interest in returning to a life of hardship, adding that he has worked hard to elevate himself beyond that point.

“That’s not a life I want. I don’t want to suffer, bro. I’ve suffered enough in my time. That is why I have worked so hard to overcome that and be in the position that I am in right now. I’m not interested in suffering no more. So if you like to suffer all the best to you. Kudos. You guys take this nasty, evil attitude and kill a lot of talents in this country. But I am not one of them,” he added.

Despite the negativity, Kwesi Arthur made it clear that he will not be discouraged from posting lifestyle content, particularly food-related videos, which, according to him, he enjoys sharing with his fans.

“Like I grew up in Tama, bro. And I started out rapping shirtless. Like you see Tema boy wey dey rap shirtless before. So what the fuck makes you think you go fit tell me what to do. Let’s be serious here,” he added.
