The General Overseer of Open Arms Ministry, St. Sark, has openly taken aim at Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, in the wake of an attempted raid by National Security personnel on his residence in Kumasi. The incident, which was reportedly blocked by Wontumi’s loyal supporters, has stirred tensions within the political sphere.

St. Sark attributed Wontumi’s present challenges to actions and remarks he made during the tenure of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, suggesting that the current backlash is a form of reckoning.

The attempted arrest, which did not succeed due to resistance from Wontumi’s backers, has raised concerns among party members and the general public. In response, Wontumi, speaking through his personal radio platform, questioned the legality of the operation. He emphasized that, despite his political status, he holds no official position within the government structure.

He further appealed to both citizens and party members, decrying what he viewed as unjust treatment. “Am I not a Ghanaian anymore? Just because the election is over, does that mean I no longer belong?” he asked.

However, St. Sark dismissed the call for solidarity, arguing that Wontumi is now facing the consequences of his past actions. “You are only reaping what you sowed during NPP’s rule. Your cup is full,” he stated, cautioning that any legal proceedings could bring additional complications for the regional chairman.

The clergyman also condemned those who disrupted the security operation, urging them to reconsider the implications of their interference with lawful procedures.
