A young skier has died after an accident on the slopes at Thredbo Alpine Resort.
Emergency services were called to the popular resort in the NSW Snowy Mountains about 12.10pm on Tuesday, following reports a skier had crashed.
The 22-year-old man died at the scene, NSW Police confirmed.
It’s understood the young skier lost control on the Dream Run trail and crashed into rocks, the ABC reports.
A Thredbo Alpine Resort spokesman said they were ‘deeply saddened by the tragic passing of a skier’ on Tuesday.
‘Emergency services were engaged with Thredbo Ski Patrol and a Thredbo Medical Centre Doctor promptly attending the scene,’ a spokesman said.
‘The Thredbo community extends its heartfelt condolences to family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.’
Monaro Police District officers will prepare a report for the coroner.

It comes after American student Drew Youngquist died at Perisher Ski Resort in August
The skier’s death comes just three weeks after a 22-year-old snowboarder died at Perisher Ski Resort.
American student Drew Youngquist sustained fatal injuries after colliding with a padded pole.
He had arrived in Australia in May to work as seasonal Winter Operations Staff member for an education company, Action Learning Initiatives, based in nearby Jindabyne.
Mr Youngquist was studying Emergency Medical Services at the University of Utah and wrote online of his goal to become ‘a physician who doesn’t just treat symptoms’.
The 22-year-old was also an experienced skier, having grown up in one of America’s top skiing destinations and home of the 2022 Winter Olympics – Salt Lake City, Utah.
He even worked as ski patrol and medical staff at Utah Olympic Park.
‘I grew up skiing from a young age at Snowbasin resort. After my dad taught me how to ski, I decided I wanted to snowboard and taught myself that,’ Mr Youngquist wrote online.
‘I recently got into ski touring and got my avalanche rescue certifications.
‘I even enjoy working on my skis and just finished my first season as a ski patroller.’
