A man’s video responding to his date has stirred up varying reactions online, with netizens either taking his side or mocking him for his actions during the date.

In the video, the man boldly accepted the claim of “ODIEGWU” which his date had called him after he made various excuses to avoid paying the 40k bill at the end of the date.

The video revealed that when the 40k bill had been brought to their table, instead of paying, he claimed he was having network issues, and asked the lady to pay, with the promise of sending her the money after.

When he did send her the money, he only sent her ₦5,000, covering his end of the bill and leaving the rest to her, essentially lying about covering the whole bill for the date.

Unhappy with his actions, the lady called him out online, calling him an “Odiegwu” for not being able to pay the bill, the opposite of an “Odogwu”, a man usually Igbo who spends heavily on women.

The man’s actions have stirred up discussion online, with many supporting him with the popular phrase “Brotherhood is proud of him”.

Others were less accepting, arguing that his action was dishonest, and if he wasn’t going to pay, he should have made that clear.
