Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale has defended MC Portfolio amid the ongoing backlash over the GH₵5,000 gift he received from him.

The controversy began when MC Portfolio, a member of Stonebwoy’s BHIM camp, was accused of betrayal after accepting the cash from Stonebwoy’s rival, Shatta Wale.

In his defence, MC Portfolio explained that his acceptance of the money was out of respect, emphasisng that his commitment to Stonebwoy remains strong.

While Stonebwoy’s camp is yet to comment on the matter, Shatta Wale has taken to his X account to extol MC Portfolio.

He even promised to add a huge sum to the initial gift.

“MC Portfolio, I want to add GH₵50K to the GH₵5,000 for them to know you didn’t sell out anyone. You just showed the industry what respect is,” Shatta Wale wrote.

Meanwhile, controversial media personality Sally Mann has criticised MC Portfolio for accepting the money, accusing him of betraying Stonebwoy.

She urged him to return the gift, offering to give him GH₵5,000 to pass on to Shatta Wale.

Sally Mann also called on Stonebwoy and his fans to drop MC Portfolio from the BHIM camp if he does not return the money.

Prior to this development, some fans and industry stakeholders, including DJ Slim, expressed disappointment in MC Portfolio for accepting the GH₵5,000 gift.
