Following a much-talked-about performance at Vybz Kartel’s concert in Kingston, Jamaica, Shatta Wale has garnered massive praise from fans worldwide, including his ‘ex-rival’, Samini.

Samini has expressed admiration for Shatta Wale‘s performance, stating that he perfectly represented African Dancehall on the global stage and deserves to be celebrated for it.

In a heartfelt social media post on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, Samini wrote, “For the culture and everything relevant to #dancehall and #Jamaica, I’d say I’m super proud of SM Boss @shattawalegh on your maiden performance in JA.

“You stood there in the name of African Dancehall and made every dancehall artist on the continent proud. Big up WORLDBOSS. Dancehall is GLOBAL 🇬🇭 🇯🇲 #akyesaaaaaaaaaa #hgf #sm #bhim ….. 2025 will be a year full of surprises.”

However, Samini’s post has since sparked mixed reactions.

While some netizens have criticised Samini for praising Shatta Wale amid the SM boss’ ongoing feud with Stonebwoy, others have applauded him for putting personal differences aside to acknowledge Shatta’s achievement.

Samini, Stonebwoy’s mentor, has faced backlash for praising Shatta Wale at a time when the longstanding rivalry between the two dancehall giants has been reignited.

Other netizens, however, have commended Samini for being the ‘bigger person’ and recognising Shatta Wale’s accomplishments, despite their past conflicts.

Meanwhile, opinions on Shatta Wale’s performance have been met with mixed reactions from netizens.

Shatta Movement fans have argued that he did an excellent job, citing his composure on stage, while others believe he could have done even better.

What Stonebwoy said about Shatta Wale’s role at Vybz Kartel’s concert

In the midst of his revived feud with Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy made some eyebrow-raising statements regarding Shatta Wale‘s performance at Vybz Kartel’s concert in Jamaica.

When news broke that Shatta Wale had been booked to perform at the concert of one of Jamaica’s biggest international stars, Vybz Kartel, fans were thrilled, considering it a major achievement for the Ghanaian dancehall artist.

The announcement stirred excitement among Shatta Wale‘s supporters, who saw it as a huge milestone in his career.

But Stonebwoy downplayed Shatta Wale’s role in the Vybz Kartel concert, describing him as merely a “curtain raiser” for the event.

For the culture and everything relevant to #dancehall and #Jamaica I’d say I’m super proud of SM Boss @shattawalegh on your maiden performance in JA. You stood there in the name of African Dancehall and made every dancehall artist on the continent proud. Big up WORLDBOSS .…
