Apaatse says musicians must honor legends Apaatse says musicians must honor legends

In recent years, the Ghanaian music scene has experienced a remarkable rise in talented rappers from the Ga community. One artiste making significant waves with his unique style and unapologetic lyrics is Apaatse.

In a recent interview, Apaatse shared his thoughts on the Ga rap scene and his relationship with veteran rapper Tinny. He emphasized the importance of respecting pioneers like Tinny, who paved the way for the current generation.

“Tinny is a legend,” Apaatse stated. “He laid the groundwork for us to build upon. If no rapper or hiplife artist can disrespect Reggie Rockstone, then you can’t do Ga rap and disrespect Tinny – it’s unacceptable.”

Apaatse highlighted Tinny’s groundbreaking contributions to the Ghanaian music industry, describing them as exceptional. Tinny not only broke cultural barriers but also popularized the Ga language in rap music, inspiring countless young artists in the process.

The rapper also hinted at potential collaborations with Tinny, stressing the importance of mutual respect. “I love working with Tinny because our styles complement each other,” he shared.

Apaatse further urged his fellow musicians to honor the legends who came before them, saying, “We need to understand and respect our roots while continuing to innovate within tradition.”

His words serve as a powerful reminder that respect and appreciation for pioneers are essential for the growth of any genre. As Ga rap continues to evolve, embracing heritage and fostering collaboration will undoubtedly fuel its progress.
