    Nigerian media personality Adeife has sparked conversations online after making a bold declaration about feminism and financial independence.

    In a recent video, Adeife stated that true feminism requires money, not just opinions or online activism.

    According to Adeife, many women remain trapped in toxic relationships, unsatisfying jobs, or limiting environments simply because they lack financial freedom.

    “Feminism is not just about tweeting or having opinions, it’s about having options, and you don’t have options when you don’t have money. Money is what makes a woman powerful. You can’t be empowered without the means of empowerment, which is money.” She said

    She went on to urge women to focus less on online debates and more on building wealth.

    Her comments have ignited mixed reactions across social media. While some users hailed her message as a necessary wake-up call, others argued that financial status shouldn’t determine a person’s right to identify as a feminist.

    Below are some of the reactions;

    “Feminism is about equality, not your bank balance. You don’t need money to know your worth.“

    “You don’t need money to be a Feminist, but you need money as a Feminist. Many feminist movements aim to address economic inequality through promoting equal pay, opportunities, and financial decision-making power for women.”

    “Feminism isn’t about money, it’s about equality. You don’t have to be rich to believe women deserve respect and fair treatment. Financial independence only amplifies your voice, not your worth. Na only Nigeria una dey change the narrative of feminism.”

    “Says a girlie’s girl that always exploits other girls…It’s sad that an average Naija girl wants to belong rather than hold people accountable. I de come…I go respond.“
