Global Lead of X1, Richard Zhang, has outlined an ambitious long-term vision following the company’s new partnership with the Ghana Football Association aimed at strengthening football development across the country.
Speaking at the launch of the five-year agreement in Accra, Zhang described the deal as more than a conventional sponsorship, emphasizing a focus on performance, sustainability and grassroots growth. He noted that X1 will serve as the Official Performance Partner of the Black Stars and the Division One League Super Cup.
Under the agreement, X1 will support both the national team and domestic competitions, targeting improvements in preparation, logistics and overall performance standards. Zhang explained that the partnership is built on enhancing elite-level output while investing in grassroots football development.
As part of the initiative, Black Stars players Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu have been named brand ambassadors and equity partners, reflecting a deeper level of player involvement.
Zhang added that X1 will provide equipment, including kits, boots and footballs, to young players nationwide.
The partnership signals a joint effort to boost performance at the top level while laying a strong foundation for the future of Ghanaian football.
