The draw for the 2025/26 CAF Confed cup has been made The draw for the 2025/26 CAF Confed cup has been made

The draw for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup group stage was conducted on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Johannesburg, with sixteen clubs confirmed after progressing through the second preliminary round.

The qualified teams have been divided into four groups of four (Groups A–D), with seeding based on performances in CAF interclub competitions over the past five seasons.

Group A: USM Alger drawn with Djoliba, Safi, and San Pedro

2023 champions USM Alger headline Group A, facing a tricky test against Mali’s Djoliba AC, Morocco’s OC Safi, and San Pedro of Côte d’Ivoire.

All four sides bring pedigree and form, promising one of the most balanced groups in this season’s competition.

Group B: Wydad face long trips to Congo and Kenya

Wydad Casablanca, who are chasing a maiden title in the CAF Confederation Cup, will have to navigate long travels in Group B alongside AS Maniema Union (DR Congo), Azam FC (Tanzania), and Kenya’s Nairobi United.

Group C: Belouizdad set for Southern Africa challenge

In Group C, CR Belouizdad of Algeria were drawn against Stellenbosch FC of South Africa, AS Otohô from Congo, and Singida Black Stars of Tanzania.

With Belouizdad making their first appearance in the competition after several seasons in the Champions League, the group offers an interesting mix of debutants and regional contenders.

    Group D: Egyptian heavyweights collide

Group D headlines the draw, with Egyptian powerhouses Zamalek and Al Masry drawn in the same group, setting up a local derby at the continental level.

They’ll be joined by Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa and ZESCO United of Zambia, in what already looks like the “Group of Death.”

    Tournament outlook

The group stage matches are set to begin later in November, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
