The World Shea Expo 2025 has brought together hardworking, innovative, and industrious women and youth shaping Ghana’s fast-growing shea industry.
The three-day event, held from September 2 to 4, 2025, at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, was organised by the Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness at the Office of the President in partnership with Savannah Golden Tree Limited, Ghana EXIM Bank, GEPA, GEA, TCDA, NRCC, NDA, and several other key institutions.
Speaking at the event, Dr Peter Boamah Otokunor, Director of Agribusiness at the Presidency, described the gathering as “an electrifying congregation of hardworking, innovative, and industrious women and youth actors of Ghana’s shea industry.”
He noted that the Expo reflects the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to position the shea industry as a strategic national priority, driving inclusive growth and creating export-ready opportunities in agribusiness.
“The World Shea Expo represents our determination to build a prosperous, inclusive, and globally competitive agricultural sector,” Dr Otokunor emphasised.
The Expo featured exhibitions, business networking sessions, and policy dialogues aimed at strengthening the shea value chain, boosting women-led enterprises, and expanding Ghana’s footprint in the global shea market.
Organisers and partners expressed confidence that the shea industry, which employs thousands across northern Ghana, will continue to serve as a pillar of rural development and economic transformation.
