Prophet Roja, who has gained fame for accurately foretelling events in the country, has prophesied about the fate of the embattled Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi.
Speaking in an interview on Onua TV on October 31, 2025, Prophet Roja said he had foreseen that Chairman Wontumi, who is being prosecuted by the state over accusations of engaging in illegal mining (galamsey), would be jailed for 15 years.
He noted that the only thing that may save the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman is prayers from Ghanaians, especially his loved ones.
“I saw the number 15 written. If Ghanaians don’t pray for him, he will be jailed for 15 years… Wontumi’s loved ones should pray for him.
“I have seen that it (the imprisonment) is all over the news. I’m seeing the number 15. It will be on TV that Wontumi will be in jail for 15 years,” he said in the Twi dialect.
The prophet added that Wontumi has done something bad to the only person who could have interceded for him.
“He has offended a man, and it is this person who can sit with people to have discussions that would help him (Wontumi) to gain his freedom.
“And the man has put his feet firmly on the ground. It will be 15, fifteen. What is today’s date? Today is the 30th, so add 15 to 30. Any smart person would understand what I have just said,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chairman Wontumi, together with Akonta Mining Company Limited, has pleaded not guilty to charges related to illegal mining, otherwise known as galamsey, in the Western Region.
Court rescinds arrest warrant for Chairman Wontumi
The charges stem from alleged unauthorised mining operations at Samreboi in the Western Region, invoking key provisions of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703), as amended by the Minerals and Mining (Amendment) Act, 2019 (Act 995).
According to the charge sheet, Wontumi and the other accused persons face three counts of assigning mineral rights without the necessary approval and three counts of facilitating an unlicensed mining operation.
