A 21-year-old woman has died, and her 27-year-old boyfriend remains in critical condition, after the pair fell from the second floor of a bar in Puerto Inca, Peru.

The incident occurred around 6am on Monday, August 4, following an argument between the couple.

The woman, identified as Emely Fiorela Mego Díaz, reportedly chased her boyfriend in an attempt to hug him.

CCTV footage shows her moving toward him in a forceful manner, leading both to fall from an area with no safety railing.

Local reports indicate Ms Mego Díaz, believed to be a bar employee, died instantly from the fall.

Her boyfriend, Henry Manuel del Águila Macedo, sustained multiple serious injuries and was taken to a local health centre before being transferred to a hospital.

    See some reactions below:

Cr@bbyVRX$$$: “Guys the guy is ok but is very injured.”

Sora bora: “What kind of stairs is that?? Zero safety.”

andy1brandy: “Woman falls and took the poor guy with her, nobody cares to mention that?”

fiezaizzah: “over a cellphone is actually wild like what???”

abby: “genuinely why do none of these staircases have railing ever.”

Kh4lil: “it looks like unfinished building and they should be sued for leaving that big gap on 4th floor.”

Shogun: “Why nobody mentioning the stairs on a higher floor NOT having guardrails at all. that single pipe on the side is flimsy and isn’t even intact.”

CoolestBadBoi: “No one gonan mention how unsafe those stairs are, it’s like the building were begging for someone to fall.”
