A woman has been found dead in a home in Melbourne‘s north.

The unidentified woman was found unresponsive at a townhouse on Gottloh Street in Epping about 5.50pm on Thursday.

    She died at the scene.

Victoria Police are yet to determine the woman’s cause of death, but are treating the incident as ‘suspicious’.

Homicide detectives remained at the home until the early hours of Friday.

Officers were also seen inspecting what appeared to be an abandoned car parked across the street from the townhouse.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
