An Iowa mother has been accused of delivering a drug-laced lasagna to a family in a sordid attempt to cause a miscarriage.
Amber Dena Snow, 36, was arrested on Tuesday following a lengthy investigation that began when the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office received a call in January about a family-sized pan of lasagna that had allegedly been laced with drugs, per KGAN.
The victims said Amber had given their family the lasagna three days after Christmas.
Court documents note that a child Snow shares with members of the alleged victim’s family had been aware that the lasagna was made to cause harm – and chose not to eat it.
The pasta dish was then sent to the Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory, where authorities confirmed it was laced with oxycodone.
During an ensuing investigation, sheriff’s deputies said they obtained and executed several search warrants.

They eventually found evidence of internet searches and conversations connected to the crime on Snow’s phone as she talked with a co-conspirator, police said.
That co-conspirator has not yet been identified or charged with any wrongdoing, but sheriff’s officials said a second arrest is expected.
Fortunately, the pregnant woman’s fetus survived the alleged attack and she said she had no knowledge of the attempt to end her pregnancy, according to KCRG.
Snow’s social media page shows she is a mother of three.
She now faces charges including two counts of administering harmful substances to an adult and two to a juvenile.

Snow is also accused of intention to terminate a human pregnancy without the consent of the pregnant person and child endangerment, which is an aggravated misdemeanor.
She is now being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.
Snow is due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on March 23.
