Some users on social media have been left fuming after Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie endorsed a video shared by Captain Prince Kofi Amoabeng (RTD), the former CEO of UT Holdings and founder of the PK Amoabeng Leadership Foundation.

The video, posted on YouTube, addresses pressing issues in Ghana, including the ongoing problem of illegal mining (galamsey), the anti-galamsey protests, and the efforts needed to tackle these challenges.

It also showcased the foundation’s initiatives to train and equip the next generation of leaders with integrity and honesty.

In his reaction, Sarkodie highlighted the importance of good leadership in shaping a better future, stating, “We can have different beliefs, morals, values… but with good leadership, we can all be on the right track for a better future. Let’s all join, transform, and build the right leaders for the future.”

Sarkodie‘s post, however, sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many lambasting him over his ‘silence’ in the wake of various happenings in the country.

“2016 by this time, you released a song for Dumsor, hardship and unemployment. NPP came to power and you’ve turned motivational speaker. God is watching you. With all your Landlord bragging right ebi one backstage BET and zero Grammy. Shame on you!!!”

“Ereach Npp dema term dieer ‘we have different beliefs’ ong. This nigga paa.”

“Masa masa,” and “Fake ass niga,” were some of the posts in reaction.

The rapper has come under fire in recent years due to his refusal to lend his voice to some movements including the #OccupyJulorbiHouse and #StopGalamseyNow protests despite his outspokenness during the former Mahama administration.
