The 4th Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament produced thrilling results at the Achimota Golf Course on November 28, 2025.
In the Men’s Group A, John Ayayee finished first with 44 points, while Esukis Esukise Martin emerged champion in the Men’s Group B section.
In the Ladies Division, Floria Hurtubise won Group A with 40 points, while Maliene Tonyigah clinched Group B with 42 points.
For the auxiliary prize of the longest drive (hole 17), Frederick Duvor won on the men’s side, while Angela Bamford claimed a second award.
In the closest-to-the-pin contest (hole 18), John Yankah emerged the winner for the men’s side, and Yabah Was Ehomah topped the ladies’ section.
Addressing the audience, the Special Guest of Honour, President John Dramani Mahama, expressed his gratitude to all those who made the event possible.

He also vowed to address land encroachment issues regarding the Celebrity Golf Club and ensure that golf courses are protected.
“I want to thank the sponsors, the organising committee, and all those involved. I endorse everything that has been said about golf and its potential—not only for improving wellness and recreation but also for enhancing tourism.
“If you look at the money that goes into organising the PGA Tour, it tells you the potential. I kept hearing things about Celebrity but didn’t know exactly what was going on, so we are going to look at it and try to resolve the issue,” the president remarked.
President of the Ghana Golf Association, Leonard Kwaku Okyere, highlighted the progress his outfit has made and emphasised the relevance of playing the sport.
“We supported some people to participate in golf events outside Ghana to give them international exposure. For the first time in the history of Ghanaian golf, four of our amateurs have been ranked in the world. The benefits of golf include friendship, networking, business opportunities, and stress management, for the betterment of everybody,” he said.
