A delivery truck driver and his colleague managed to fight off two would-be carjackers in front of shocked bystanders at a busy Melbourne service station.

Confronting footage showed the heroic LG contractors taking on the two alleged assailants in Scoresby, in the city’s east, on Friday.

The wild brawl was sparked when the alleged attackers hurled racial insults before demanding the keys to their truck.

The truck driver went toe to toe and traded blows with the would-be thieves.

‘Get back in your truck!’ a bystander was heard yelling.

The truck driver’s colleagues rushed to his aid and the pair forced the men back to their getaway car.

One of the LG drivers was seen swinging a spirit level at one of the alleged attackers as he got into the red Subaru, bizarrely grabbing a guitar from the back seat.

‘Woah, woah, woah,’ the alleged attacker yelled. ‘Calm down, yeah.’

The would-be thieves fled the scene empty-handed and remain on the run

The brave delivery driver delivered one last flurry of blows before the alleged attackers drove off.

The LG contractors were not seriously injured but remain shaken by the terrifying ordeal, according to friends.

Their alleged attackers were last seen heading southbound on the Eastlink and remain on the run, according to Victoria Police.

LG told Nine News the company was aware of the incident and is conducting further inquiries.

Daily Mail has contacted LG for further comment.
