Yaa Gifty, (R) in tears as she recalls last conversation with her late husband Yaa Gifty, (R) in tears as she recalls last conversation with her late husband

Yaa Gifty, the wife of Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley, has spoken for the first time since her husband’s tragic passing.

Pooley, a devoted Asante Kotoko fan, was fatally stabbed during the team’s game against Nsoatreman at the Nana Konamansah Park in Nsoatre on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Still in shock over her husband’s death, Gifty broke down in uncontrollable tears during an emotional interview with LUV FM’s Stephen Zando, as friends and family gathered to console her.

Recalling their last conversation, Gifty shared that her husband kept her updated throughout his journey until he reached Nsoatre.

She revealed that she had urged him not to enter the stadium, a plea he did not heed, leading to his untimely death.

“I’m still waiting for my husband. He told me he was travelling, and when he arrived, he called me. I told him not to enter the stadium,” she said, sobbing.

Pooley lost his life on Sunday, February 2, 2025, after violence erupted during the match, ultimately leading to his fatal stabbing.
