When Dr. Kojo Poly said that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will look into the alleged expired rice problem, Dr. Clement Apaak, a Deputy Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Education Committee, took exception.

Ghanaians should wait for the vice president to be elected president before this controversy is looked into, according to Dr. Apaak, who is also the member of parliament for Builsa South.

He pointed out that schools have been given unhealthy food, but rather than proving it right now to get those responsible for it prosecuted, he is telling the public that if he is elected, the vice president will look into it.

He described the scandal as criminal wickedness for which those behind it must be punished.

He is demanding to know why the vice president hasn’t started an investigation into the matter, particularly because he is claiming credit for the execution of several programs under this administration.

Therefore, he had warned Ghanaians to take advantage of this chance to vote out this government for providing “our schoolchildren with expired rice.”

He said in a post on X formerly Twitter saying

“Our children are being fed unwholesome food under a government whose Veep is the Flagbearer of the same party currently in government, and you are telling Ghanaians that the same Veep/Flagbearer will investigate such criminal wickedness when he becomes President? What prevents DMB from causing an investigation into this matter now? Is he not on record claiming to have initiated and led all manner of initiatives? Ghanaians must severely punish DMB/NPP for feeding our children expired rice”.
