Ghanaian dancehall musician, Stonebwoy

Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy has recounted how he mentally prepared ahead of the 2025 edition of the BHIM Concert, despite the controversies surrounding the event.

Speaking in an interview on Starr FM on February 26, 2026, Stonebwoy revealed that he deliberately avoided social media and other distractions hours before mounting the stage.

“I really remember that before the controversies were really running, two or three hours before I hit the stage, we were announcing that I would be on stage by 10 p.m.,” he said.

According to Stonebwoy, around 8 p.m., while spending time with his wife, some people were already expressing doubts about the event’s turnout.

“Before getting on stage, I was with my wife around 8 p.m., and people were already doubting. But I knew everything was going to go as it was supposed to go, which is success only, irrespective of the storms,” he stated.

He further disclosed that his wife then informed him the venue had suddenly become packed, but he deliberately refused to watch videos or view updates on her phone.

“My wife was telling me that the whole place was choked all of a sudden, and I told her that I didn’t want to see it. I didn’t want to see it on the phone.

“I just wanted to get on stage and see the crowd, and that’s what happened. I saw the crowd the moment I mounted the stage,” he explained.

Stonebwoy noted that he switched off his phone six hours before the show to stay focused and avoid unnecessary pressure.

“Six hours before the show, my phone was off. I didn’t want to know or hear what was going on. My wife was literally eager to show it to me on her phone, but I told her I didn’t want to see it because I wanted to see my people for real,” he added.
