Rio Ferdinand has relocated to Dubai with his family.

Former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand and his wife, Kate, have relocated to Dubai with their children, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the family.

The couple confirmed the move through Kate’s Instagram, where she shared a series of photos from their new surroundings.

The images included her relaxing near the Burj Al Arab, moments with their son Cree, and a glimpse of their cream-toned living room.

She captioned the post: “A new chapter, a fresh start, because if we don’t try, we’ll never know. We’ve talked about this for so long, and now it’s finally real. We’re here, making a new home in the place we met.”

Support poured in from friends and fellow celebrities. Presenter Rochelle Humes commented, “So excited for you girly, see you in October,” while Georgia Kousoulou added, “So, so excited for you all.”

Pundit Ally McCoist also joined in with a light-hearted remark: “Looks superb. Have they got a Zara out there, big yin?”

Ferdinand, 46, recently stepped down from his role as a pundit with TNT Sports after ten years, explaining that he was ready for a reset.

“This must be the first time in 30 years my life isn’t driven by the fixture list,” he said. “Lifestyle, safety, weather, education, it all just felt right. It feels nice.”

The decision was also shaped by family considerations. Rio and Kate share two young children, four-year-old Cree and two-year-old Shae.

Kate is also stepmother to Ferdinand’s older children Lorenz, 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 14, from his marriage to the late Rebecca Ellison.

With Lorenz signing a professional contract at Brighton, the timing was carefully considered.

However, Ferdinand noted that the education system in Dubai played a key role in the family’s decision. “It just felt better for my kids. Perfect timing for all of them,” he explained.
